Lizard Creek Campground is a private, family-owned campground located between the Lehigh Valley and the Pocono Mountains. We have large flat sites with lots of grass and mature shade trees. There’s a beautiful stocked creek running through the property that offers great fishing. Our large swimming pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and is a great place to relax and soak up some sun.
We are a small "Mom and Pop" campground. Lizard Creek Campground is our home where we live all year around. We are thrilled to be able share such a beautiful and peaceful place with you - our customers and our friends. Lizard Creek is a place to come when you are looking for quiet, reflective time in nature to sooth your soul and reflect on the important things in life. To that end we offer walking trails and quiet sitting spots to mediate. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 9 AM - and we expect adults to comply with this though we are tolerant of a reasonable level kid of noise.
The campground is located on a gentle little stream... The site was reasonably level and dry... Sites are close together and open, but overall the campground feels like a family-oriented neighborhood. It quiets down quickly at night, light pollution and traffic noise are not problems. We were soon treated to the trilling of toads, the spring song of peepers and a million stars in a black night sky. In the summer, there's a nice pool. The state stocks the stream with fish, and fishing is clearly popular.
At Lizard Creek Campground, you will find a variety of accommodation options including cabins, tent sites and RV sites. Our cabins and all of our RV sites have water, electric, a picnic table and a fire ring. All of our RV sites include septic and most include cable TV hookup too. A few of our cabins have a kitchen and a bath. There is a camp store for your camping necessities and forgotten items - ice, firewood, fire lighters, marshmallows, candy, drinks, ice cream, and the like.
Lizard Creek Campground is a great base from which to enjoy the local attractions. We are about 25 mins from Jim Thorpe. There is white water rafting, mountain bike trails, hiking less than 20 minutes drive. The Appalachian Trail is 10 minutes away and offers gorgeous views of the surrounding area. Within 20 minutes drive you’ll find a variety of options for shopping, restaurants and movies. We are about 45 minutes from Allentown, Easton and Bethlehem for sightseeing, amusement parks, dining and shopping.
